The time has come! The Disneyland and Disney California Adventure Parks are reopening on April 30th, 2021! We’re finally able to go back home after being away for over a year. Below is a full breakdown of what to expect from Disneyland upon initial reopening.

Dates and Hours

Disneyland and California Adventure

4/30 - 5/13, the parks will be open 9 AM - 7 PM.

5/14 - 6/28, the parks will be open 9 AM - 9 PM.

Nothing is listed past 6/28 at this time, and no reservations are available yet past that date.

At this time, Magic Morning and Extra Magic Hour are unavailable.

Dining reservations are open as of April 22nd.

Ticket booths are expected to reopen on April 30th.

Avengers Campus at Disney California Adventure will be opening June 4th.

Tickets and Reservations

In order to visit the park, you will have to purchase a valid ticket as well as make a park reservation for each day of your ticket. Both one park per day and park hopper tickets are available, and both require a reservation at either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure. If you purchase a park hopper ticket, your reservation determines which park you will start your day at. You will be able to park hop starting at 1 PM as capacity allows.

  • You can purchase tickets on the Disneyland website  here.

  • You can make park reservations at the Disneyland website here.

  • View dates available for park reservations here

  • One day tickets are tiered based on perceived demand for any given day, with price varying by tier. You can check which tier tickets are valid for which days here.

While one day tickets vary in price by day, all multi-day tickets are at a fixed price and valid for any day. If you purchase multi-day tickets, all reservations must be booked within a two-week period. This means if I purchase a three-day park hopper ticket and reserve my earliest day as June 1st, my latest day on that ticket would have to be June 14th or earlier. If you would like to visit on two dates that are more than 14 days apart, you will need to purchase separate tickets.

Multi-day tickets can also be purchased from third-party travel sites (such as GetAwayToday, UndercoverTourist, or aResTravel) or from membership benefit sites (such as TicketsAtWork or AAA), usually for a slight discount. If you purchase tickets third-party, you must link your tickets to the Disneyland app via the barcode or ticket number before you can make your park reservations. Single-day tickets can only be purchased directly from the Disneyland website.

Disneyland Resort Hotels

The Grand Californian Hotel will be reopening on April 29th, and reservations are currently available. The DVC villas at the Grand Californian Hotel will be reopening May 2nd. The Disneyland Hotel and Paradise Pier Hotel will be reopening at a later date. Dining at Disneyland Hotel and Paradise Pier Hotel is also unavailable.

At the Grand Californian Hotel, three dining locations will be reopening - Craftsman Bar, Craftsman Grill, and Hearthstone Lounge. Napa Rose and Storyteller's Cafe will not be reopening yet.

You can make a reservation for the Grand Californian here. It is recommended that you purchase park tickets and make park reservations first in order to guarantee that you will be able to visit the parks during your planned stay.

In addition, several Good Neighbor Hotels (non-Disney hotels in the area) will be opening and are also options for guests staying out of town. The Grand Californian Hotel is simply a premium option for guests who prefer to stay on resort.

Parking

Parking is available at the Mickey and Friends Parking Structure and the Pixar Pals Parking Structure, which are right next to each other. The Toy Story Parking Area is expected to remain closed at this time, as it is still being used as an Orange County Covid-19 vaccination site.

Parking costs $25 per vehicle per day. While it is not required, you can opt to pre-pay for parking here or pay when you arrive.

Parking locations for the theme parks open 30 minutes prior to the earliest standard Disneyland Resort theme park opening time. Plan to arrive at the Disneyland Resort at park opening time.

Guests will be able to access the parks via a dedicated walkway from the Mickey & Friends and Pixar Pals Parking Structures. The tram is not operating at this time. After parking, guests are being asked to walk the tram route.

Entertainment

All shows and entertainment are expected to remain closed at this time, including Fantasmic, World of Color, fireworks, and parades.

Character meet and greets will also not be available upon reopening. Some characters will be visible from distance locations within the parks.

Dining

Upon reopening, many dining experiences may be modified or unavailable. At this time, following state and county guidelines, outdoor patio seating and limited indoor seating at select locations will be permitted.

Plan Ahead by Using Mobile Order on the Disneyland App

Choose an arrival window that works for you, order food and beverages from select dining locations and pay via the Disneyland app to help limit your contact with others. When you arrive at the restaurant during your arrival window, tap “I'm Here” on the app and your order will be prepared. You’ll get an alert when it is ready to be picked up at the area marked with the Mobile Order Pick Up sign.

Dining Reservations

In the Parks

Dining reservations for table-service restaurants are available at Disneyland.com. Capacity is limited. You'll need both a valid ticket and park reservation, for the same park on the same date, to enter the theme park in order to redeem your dining reservation at a table-service restaurant inside the park.

Check in for Dining Reservations

Maximize your time—and minimize your contact with others—by checking in for dining reservations at select table-service restaurants via the Disneyland app. Learn more.

Join a Mobile Dine Walk-Up List

Don’t have a dining reservation? You now have the opportunity to add your party to the mobile walk-up list at select table-service restaurants (subject to availability on the Disneyland app). Learn more.

More to Know

Upon arrival, all members of your party must be present before seating, and hosts must bring your entire party to the table at one time. You will need to cancel at least one day prior to your reservation to avoid a per person late cancellation fee.

Select dining reservations will resume at a later date.

In addition, all pin trading at the park is currently on pause.

Lightsaber building at Savi's Workshop will be available and can be reserved here starting April 22nd. Droid Depot will also be open but does not require a reservation.

Rise of the Resistance Virtual Queue

When the park reopens, Rise of the Resistance at Star Wars: Galaxy's Edge will only be available to ride via a virtual queue system. The queue can be entered via the virtual queues menu on the Disneyland app (click the three lines in the bottom right corner of the app, then go to "Virtual Queues").

The virtual queue will be available at two different points during the day:

  • At 7 AM, the virtual queue will open for all guests starting at Disneyland Park. As long as you have a reservation that day starting at Disneyland Park, you are eligible to join this window. You can do this from anywhere - it's only checking your reservation status, so there's no park scan or geolocation requirement.

  • At 12 PM, the virtual queue will open again for all guests with valid admission to Disneyland for that day who have scanned into either DL or DCA. This means if you have a DL-start reservation or a DCA-start park hopper reservation, you can try to get a boarding group in this window. If you have not scanned into either DL or DCA by noon or do not have a reservation/ticket type that includes Disneyland Park, you will not be eligible for this window.

Joining the virtual queue is free to all guests and does not require any payment or additional reservation. You just need to have a valid reservation for Disneyland Park for that day.
